The National Council recognizes crimes against humanity committed against the Yenish and Sinti

In a statement, the National Council has declared that the removal and forced placement of Yenish and Sinti children during the 20th century constitute ‘crimes against humanity’. It acknowledges the severe suffering inflicted on the victims and their families by the actions of state institutions and expresses its regret to them.
