Vom Glück vergessen. Fürsorgerische Zwangsmassnahmen in Bern und der Schweiz

Description
Until the 1970s, tens of thousands of children, young people and adults in Switzerland were affected by compulsory social measures: they were placed in care, sent into service, declared legally incompetent or placed in institutions. Many came from difficult social and economic backgrounds. Their poverty or their lifestyle, which deviated from bourgeois norms, was considered grounds for massive intervention and repressive measures. In recent years, those affected have been raising their voices more and more. Today, it is officially recognised that they were wronged, and several cantons have launched initiatives to bring this injustice into the collective memory and to engage in a social debate about it.
